The apartment is part of the Henselmann-Ensemble, which is listed in the Berliner list of Ensemble Monuments. It was comprehensively repaired in 2000/2001, taking into account the applicable preservation regulations. In the process, the flat roof, which had already been reconstructed in 1993, was renovated, the façade painted, new windows installed, the loggias expanded as winter gardens (glazed with sliding windows), new bell panels and mailboxes installed, the old apartment entrance doors replaced by new, burglary-resistant ones, the stairwells restored, the cellars have been insulated, new
water pipes and new flat radiators have been installed and the electrical supply lines renewed - in the non-rented apartments, the electrical system was completely replaced, the balconies have been drained and repaired and the yards redesigned.
Since then, the houses have been well maintained. Even minor upcoming repairs were ordered immediately, which is documentedin the protocols of the annual owner‘s meeting. Accordingly, the ensemble appears today. The building is heated via gas central heating system. The energy pass is a consumption certificate with a corresponding consumption value of 145,3 kWh/(m²a).

Gubitzstrasse begins in the South beyond Grellstrasse, near the Zeiss Planetarium, and runs northwise across Erich-Weinert- and Ostseestrasse to Paul-Grasse-Strasse. The Ostseestrasse connects the Prenzlauer Allee in the West with Greifswalder Strasse respectively Federal Highway 2 at its Eastern end. House Gubtzstrasse number 28 is right on the corner. The house Ostseestrasse 43 is facing away from the street tot he calm courtyard. The quarters on both sides of Ostseestrasse are among the most popular residential areas of Northern Prenzlauer Berg. First, because the infrastructure is very good and the prices are quite a bit lower than in Southern Prenzlauer Berg, and secondly, because the housing estates built there after World War II offer a lot of comfort. The large, green courtyards work like calm islands in the big city - which isn‘t far away, but is taking place right outside the door. The Henselmann ensemble is framed by Ostsee-, Gubitz-, Paul-Grasse- and Goethestrasse. It was built in the 1950s in the colloquially called Confectioner Style of architecture (correctly it is Soviet Classicism). The most prominent example of Confectioner Style architecture is the „Stalinbuildings“
along Frankfurter Allee (where Hermann Henselmann also lived with his family until 1960). In the immediate vicinity of the ensemble are several supermarkets, drugstores and specialty stores, a boxing ring, the State Ballet School and other useful facilities. The bus line 158 stops right outside at the road, the 156 line a few meters further. On the Prenzlauer Allee stops the metro line M2, which leads to S-Bahn station Prenzlauer Allee and Alexanderplatz. At Greifswalder Strasse you can take the metro lines M1 and M4.
