The task of the architecture bureau was to redecorate the attic of an antique city building, situated in the centre of the town, into an apartment with modern and spacious living areas. While planning and decorating, the attention was mainly being paid to different activities that take place in the area during the day such as socializing, sitting, cooking, reading and playing the piano. Due to wall removal and various ceiling heights, the 2-level living area is very airy and bright and has an effect of a timeless and soothing oasis in the middle of Ljubljana. The apartment walls and floor are mainly in white, intertwined with sophisticated pieces of white furniture and lighting and glass partitions. To create a contrast to the cold timelessness, the owners decorated the main living area with sitting furniture in strong colours (sofa, lounger, bench…). A Bulthaup vintage kitchen holds a special position in the apartment and satisfies the tastes of even the most demanding experts of top interior design. The apartment is wisely decorated with hand-picked pieces of furniture, each of them telling us their own interesting story. The luxury apartment on the lower level consists of a hallway, a wardrobe, a utility, a big open living space (80 m2) with an exit to a smaller balcony, a bedroom (12.30 m2), a toilet for the guests and a bright bathroom with a tub. The upper level consists of a bedroom and a bright working area/gallery with a view of the dining room. It is possible to park behind the barrier. An elevator is planned to be built in the near future. The apartment is situated in an excellent location near Cankarjev dom and Drama. Great connections to the city bus service, several stores, restaurants, bars, a theatre, an opera and the old city centre are just around the corner.
